The third pretest for the Emacs 22.2 release is now available. It can
be downloaded from
http://alpha.gnu.org/gnu/emacs/pretest/emacs-22.1.92.tar.gz
The xdelta against the 22.1.91 pretest is available at
http://alpha.gnu.org/gnu/emacs/pretest/emacs-22.1.91-22.1.92.xdelta
The CVS tag for this pretest is EMACS_PRETEST_22_1_92.
Please email emacs-devel@gnu.org if you encounter any problems with
the pretest.
Thanks.

Thanks!
That's a great `birthday gift' for those of us born on March 7th :)
/me heads off to try updating FreeBSD's ports/editors/emacs-devel to use
the new pretest tarball :)

Would it be good to mention the pretest and the links above on
http://www.gnu.org/software/emacs/
For example under "Releases" there?
Would it be good to mention the pretest on EmacsWiki?

Depends on who maintains those web-pages. Who maintained them until now?
It might be good to list it there, but only if the page is maintained
sufficiently up-to-date.
> Would it be good to mention the pretest on EmacsWiki?
Sure, with the same caveat. We especially don't want people to use old
pretests, so if a web-page mentions a pretest it's important to make
sure that the page will not point to an old pretest (or to a pretest at
all when the final release was cut).

I don't think there is an active maintainer. It can be changed via
CVS, and I've updated them before (for the 22.1 release).
I agree that it would be good to update the Emacs webpage to include
the pretest. I'll do it once I find the time.

Maintaining the Emacs web pages is part of the task of maintaining Emacs.

Wouldn't it be good to also mention that binaries for windows are
available in the windows subdirectory? (Jason told this earlier.) I
think that is important to windows users.

Alternatively, link to the directory rather than (or as well as)
directly to the gzipped tar files.
