What I meant with the parenthetical remark is: If Isearch starts ignoring things like `*Note', then people could not safely rely on it anymore, because they would always have to ask themselves: "What _other_ stuff does search in Emacs ignore?". There could always be _some_ reason why Isearch decided that they were actually not interested in finding what they were trying to find and that showing them the match would only "inconvenience" them.
