The current Emacs binding for `C--' (negatie-argument) seems pretty
redundant, as there are many other ways of getting the same thing (`M--',
`C-u -', both of which I suspect are more commonly used). Since a "reduce
font size" binding of `C--' is rather common in other GUI programs
(gtk/gnome, mozilla), I'd say it easily trumps the current Emacs binding.
