I cannot find that explanation, and I am not sure what "the USG part of create_process" refers to. Would you please show me the specific code you mean? I'm trying to understand this. In particular, I wonder why this code if (!NILP (p->subtty)) err = ioctl (XFASTINT (p->subtty), TIOCGPGRP, &gid); does not get the right value. Does err get set to -1 when the ioctl fails?
