Can repro locally now. I wonder whether the --enable-checking=all code is just busted somehow. Emacs doesn't finish dumping itself in master either: loadup seems to spin after trying to load files.el, even with -O3, and on the pdumper branch, we crash in temacs during early loadup well before we do anything with pdumper. I'll keep looking when I can.
