I suggest to change it into something like this: If nil and the left fringe is displayed, don't scroll the compilation output window; the arrow in the left fringe indicates the current message. If nil and there's no left fringe, always scroll and display the current message at the top of the compilation window. Also, please use two spaces after the period that ends a sentence. Thanks.
