Thanks for trying, Juri. Yes, I would love to get a recent Windows binary. 

[In particular, Stefan has apparently radically changed the Emacs completion
code recently, and that has broken my code. I will need to get hold of a binary
to start to see what's happening. I read emacs-devel, but I don't always read
each message to the end in detail. If there was a discussion about changing
file-name completion in incompatible ways then I somehow missed it.]
