This bug report will be sent to the Free Software Foundation,
not to your local site managers!
Please write in English, because the Emacs maintainers do not have
translators to read other languages for them.

Your bug report will be posted to the bug-gnu-emacs@gnu.org mailing
list,
and to the gnu.emacs.bug news group.

Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug
and the precise symptoms of the bug:

I cannot send mail from Emacs running under Windows XP connected via
a PPP dialup connection (this is a game machine; installing GNU/Linux
on it would mean that I would have to do work at home).

When I select either Rmail or Sendmail (from the menu) to send email,
Emacs complains that a program called 'fakemail' is not found.

I don't know whether this is a bug (it's supposed to work, but
doesn't) or not (it's not suposed to work).

Use customize to change your mail sending options to use
"smtpmail-send-it" instead of "sendmail-send-it", and set the other
smtpmail options appropriately for your ISP.

This is deliberate. fakemail never worked on Windows, so by installing
it in previous releases we were just fooling users into thinking they
could send mail from Emacs out of the box, since it would fail silently.
