Hi
I am trying to install emacs on Sun Ultra 1 Solaris 8.
when I run the ./configure I get the error
loading cache ./config.cache
checking host system type... sparc-sun-solaris2.8
checking for gcc... no
checking for cc... no
configure: error: no acceptable cc found in $PATH
and when i do ./configure --with-gcc=no
it still says that make not found.
Please advice.

Does your system have a compiler or a make program?
Instead of building Emacs yourself, perhaps you want to get the
package from http://www.sunfreeware.com (of course, you'll need to be
the root user to install the package).
