Subject: bug#9840: 23.3; rmail-edit-current-message destroys MIME messages [SEVERE]

seems like a pretty serious problem with Emacs 23.3+'s rmail mime
handling. Any ideas on how to fix this?
(It happens in 23.3 as well, so is not related to bug#9520.)
