Subject: bug#8622: 24.0.50; url-parse does not implement RFC3986 5.2
Date: Sun, 11 Sep 2011 18:34:47 +0200	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <m3wrdfm40o.fsf@stories.gnus.org> (raw)
In-Reply-To: <87y5xv3v0k.fsf@keller.adm.naquadah.org> (Julien Danjou's message of "Sun, 11 Sep 2011 18:26:35 +0200")

However, as a practical issue, it might make sense to just do what
Firefox does, which is probably "best practise". If for no other reason
than that Firefox does it.

It will strip "../" and "./" from the front of the local part of all
URLs, according to tcpdump.
