Subject: bug#25588: 26.0.50; Wishlist: shr could support some further CSS
Date: Tue, 31 Jan 2017 16:53:09 +0100	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <m3o9ynns4a.fsf@stories> (raw)

This is just a reminder to myself, unless anybody else wants to have a
go at it:

shr (by design) disregards virtually all CSS because it has to be fast
enough. Getting bogged down in details is a sure-fire way to become so
slow that it's not useful any more.

But shr already supports display: none i direct style attributes. I
think shr could consider parsing inline CSS sections (in emails and the
like) and make <div class="foo"> with .foo { display: inline } without a
huge performance penalty.

Implementing this should be easy, but benchmarking should be performed
before committing.
