Just thought you might be interested in user failure a/k/a pilot error
reports: I had just marked the wrong file for deletion in dired, hit x
and "yes" all before realizing I had hit the wrong file. To top it
off, emacs had helpfully asked me if I also wanted to delete the
buffer of that file, to which I of course answered y. By the time
the smoke had all cleared, my only hope, short of some kind of disk
dump technology, was to look in ~/.backups, where I only found a
several hours old copy.

OK, I will turn this off, under physician's recommendation:
dired-clean-up-buffers-too's value is t

Documentation:
*Non-nil means offer to kill buffers visiting files and dirs deleted in dired.

[ought to be mentioned when we do C-h k x in dired]

By the way, from the name of the variable it seems that t should mean
just do it, "'ask" should mean "offer", and nil should mean don't do it.

Anyway, by turning it off maybe I will give fumblefingers me a second
chance when I blow away another file next time.
