I luckily don't have to use such a proprietary system, but I'm pretty sure many other Emacs users do, yet we haven't heard many complaints about it, so there is probably something specific to your use case. Can you test if you see this problem already with "emacs -Q"? If not, try to find out which part of your .emacs config triggers the problem so we can try and reproduce it on our end. Stefan
