I installed GNU Emacs 21.2 on a Mandrake 9.0 platform. When I ran the
program everything went fine but when I tried to open the tutorial I got
this message in the minibuffer:

Opening input file: no such file or directory,
/usr/share/emacs/21.2/etc/TUTORIAL

I checked the content of that directory and it doesn't contain that
file.
How can I get the tutorial to show?
I'd appreciate any kind of help you can give me.

Thank you very much,

Roberto Llovera.

Dear Emacs developers,

First of all, thank you for creating such an outstanding piece of work as Emacs.
The newer version of that, Xemacs, must have been developed by someone else, as
it is so far from good.

Since I really disliked Xemacs, I downloaded the only version of Emacs I found
from your website, (I run Debian Gnome) and after compiling everything is good,
however after I run 'make' and try to 'src/emacs -q' , I get

atlantis:/home/evgeni/emacs-21.3# src/emacs -q
emacs: Cannot open termcap database file

Please let me know what I can do. I really like emacs and would like to continue
using it.
Thanks a million in advance,
Yours sincerely,

Eugene

Thank you for the praise. XEmacs is not a newer version. It's just
a different project with common roots.

Please show us the complete output of your build, including the output of
./configure and make.
Alternatively, you might just want to install the precompiled binary
distributed by Debian, using apt-get.
