Please write in English if possible, because the Emacs maintainers
usually do not have translators to read other languages for them.

Your bug report will be posted to the emacs-pretest-bug@gnu.org mailing list.

Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug
and the precise symptoms of the bug:

In the Emacs manual it is written that if inhibit-eol-conversion is non-nil
then ^M is displayed at every line instead of (DOS) in modeline. However
no matter to what inhibit-eol-conversion is set (t or nil) I always get
(DOS) and no ^M when visiting a DOS file.

Thanks in advance.

If Emacs crashed, and you have the Emacs process in the gdb debugger,
please include the output from the following gdb commands:
    `bt full' and `xbacktrace'.
If you would like to further debug the crash, please read the file
/usr/share/emacs/23.0.90/etc/DEBUG for instructions.

Should be fixed by this change:

2009-02-28 Eli Zaretskii <eliz@gnu.org>

	* coding.c (decode_coding_utf_8, decode_coding_utf_16)
	(decode_coding_emacs_mule, decode_coding_iso_2022)
	(encode_coding_iso_2022, decode_coding_sjis, decode_coding_big5)
	(decode_coding_raw_text, decode_coding_charset)
	(setup_coding_system, decode_eol, decode_coding, consume_chars):
	Honor inhibit-eol-conversion. (Bug #2186)
