I tried to install emacs 23.4 on OS 10.6.8. I edited the Makefile to
have cc=gcc-4.2, so everything compiled to completion. However, upon
trying to run the resulting ./src/emacs or ./src/emacs-23.4, I get:
$ ./src/emacs-23.4.1
Fatal error (11)Segmentation fault
This is on a MacBook Pro that is pretty much a fresh install + updates
+ latest XQuartz. Can anyone suggest a combination that will get me a
working Gnu emacs? Thanks.
