(describe-variable (quote dired-guess-shell-alist-user)) says:
For example, to add rules for `.foo' and `.bar' files, write

(list (list "\\.foo\\'" "FOO-COMMAND");; fixed rule
Really .foo\\' ? How about .foo$
;; possibly more rules ...
(list "\\.bar\'";; rule with condition test
Really .bar\' ? This time with one \ too? How about .bar$

Yes. "\\'" is the string representation of the \' regexp, which
matches the end of the string. $ matches the end of the string
(as intended) or an embedded newline (which is not).

Good catch, it should be "\\.bar\\'"
