Message-ID: <Pine.LNX.4.58.0404171602230.1403@mnemosyne.localdomain> (raw)

Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug
and the precise symptoms of the bug:
[Originally posted to g.e.help, Stefan Monnier suggested I report it a
bug.]
I am using abbrev-mode in LaTeX-mode (sic, I'm using AUCTeX). I define
all my abbreviations using C-x a l (add-mode-abbrev) and I just
noticed when using edit-abbrevs that my abbreviations are mostly in
text-mode-abbrev-table. I say mostly, because some of them had ended
up (often duplicated) in log-edit-mode-abbrev-table. What is going on
here? Why is there no LaTeX-mode-abbrev-table? More importantly, how
is Emacs choosing which table to add abbrevs to? (I can see how it
might be something like "the mode table corresponding to the last
major mode I used that has a mode table": I'm using CVS, so I do use
log-edit-mode.)
