Unfortunatly, this build made me discover that my previous tests were'nt 
comprehensive enough

M-X shell makes emacs unresponsive (frozen)

configured with "--without-all --with-x-toolkit=lucid", 
CC=/usr/vac/bin/xlc_r  CFLAGS="-O3 -g"
