I do not have a C:drive and emacs tries to auto-save on the c: drive since
the emacs settings dir is set to "c:.emacs". Emacs crashes when it tries
to auto-save since there is no C: drive, is there a way for me to change
this option to "f:.emacs"?

Thanks,
..For those who have the misfortune of having to code in windows.

Define the HOME environment variable to point to some directory, and
move your .emacs there as well. (Auto-saves go to the home directory,
which on Windows defaults to C:\.)

That doesn't mean Emacs should crash, so please provide the details of
the crash: what line of code crashes and why.
