The expert doesn't need to follow the emacs-devel list all the time, but if from time to time he can be consulted on such issues, deciding between variants, etc. that itself could be quite useful. > For now we have to get by with what we have. Until the project has such an expert consultant, wouldn't asking the emacs community be a better way to decide such issues? E.g. running a vote on /r/emacs.
