I mistakenly sent a message from `emacs -Q', so `sendmail-send-it'
tried to run the sendmail program, and it hung. I typed C-g and Emacs said
Waiting for process to die...(type C-g again to kill it instantly)
(which comes from call_process_cleanup).
However, typing C-g again had no effect, and Emacs remained hung
for a long time. Eventually the process did die and Emacs un-hung.
In GNU Emacs 23.0.90.4 (mipsel-unknown-linux-gnu, GTK+ Version 2.12.11)
of 2009-02-23 on lemote-yeeloong
configured using `configure 'CFLAGS=-O0 -g -Wno-pointer-sign' 'mipsel-unknown-linux-gnu' 'build_alias=mipsel-unknown-linux-gnu' 'host_alias=mipsel-unknown-linux-gnu' 'target_alias=mipsel-unknown-linux-gnu''

That may not be Emacs's fault, right, depending on what the sendmail
process was doing? Eg if it was in uninterruptible sleep waiting for IO?
Presumably you can reproduce this situation and see what sendmail is
doing, and if you can kill it from outside Emacs. If you cannot, then
it's not an Emacs problem.
