Could you get the latest code from CVS on savannah.gnu.org
and see if it still fails?
Press <TAB>
=> emacs freezes; it has to be killed
Does C-g work?
Could you debug it with GDB and see what it is doing?
It might be looping; see etc/DEBUG for advice about
how to investigate an endless loop in Emacs.
