This is an experimental feature. I hope it will be documented for the
next major release when finished based on possible user feedback.
I'm unsure if this should be documented in the Emacs-22 branch.

Why do you consider it experimental? Because you would like to experiment
more to possibly extend it, or because there are currently problems with
it?

I see no problems with it. It has been around for years (in pretest versions
of Emacs 22) - at least since 2004, maybe longer.

Whether or not we might improve it in some future release is irrelevant
here, IMO. It is available in Emacs 22; it is useful; and it should be
documented. _Especially_ if you want user feedback that might help you
improve it.

I see no reason to delay documenting this command.
Would someone please give it a try?

I documented it in Emacs-22. I'm not sure if it will propagate to the trunk
or not after the recent changes of the doc directory layout.

The 22 -> trunk merging happens via arch, and the arch tags in the
files enable arch to cope with moved files. So there should be no
problem. Although no merging of any kind has happened for a while.
