It should probably be marked obsolete as well -- any objections? Regarding resizing `aset` calls, what about adding the proposed warnings = to Emacs 30? They are not expected to be seen much, and it gives users = ample time to change some old code that may remain. In any case, we'll know soon enough (that's one good thing about = warnings).
