Subject: bug#37640: 27.0.50; Emacs manuals inconsistent on .dir-locals-2.el
Date: Sun, 6 Oct 2019 23:43:51 +0200 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <CAKyOKyGhsiba1id3--ZgHmH8N+szVrH3fn9si6sPVBBsGp9iug@mail.gmail.com> (raw)
The Emacs manual section `Directory Local Variables' says
regarding the `dir-locals-file' variable:
This constant is also used to derive the name of a
second dir-locals file ‘.dir-locals-2.el’. If this second
dir-locals file is present, then that is loaded instead of
‘.dir-locals.el’.
The `Per-Directory Local Variables' section says:
You can also use ‘.dir-locals-2.el’; if found, Emacs loads it in
addition to ‘.dir-locals.el’.
Note `instead' in the first quote and `addition' in the second.
In GNU Emacs 27.0.50 (build 11, x86_64-pc-linux-gnu, GTK+ Version 3.22.11)
