I didn't witness a freeze, but I opened emacs -Q, did M-: #[] twice,
moved point around without a problem, then did C-x 3 and Emacs core
dumped.

Core was generated by `emacs --reverse-video -Q'.
Program terminated with signal 11, Segmentation fault.
