After
$ setxkbmap -variant altgr-intl -option compose:menu
I can enter unicode characters with Menu everywhere except emacs
Starting emacs with
$ env -u XMODIFIERS emacs
makes it work
If Emacs crashed, and you have the Emacs process in the gdb debugger,
please include the output from the following gdb commands:
`bt full' and `xbacktrace'.
For information about debugging Emacs, please read the file
/usr/share/emacs/24.3/etc/DEBUG.

Will you have access to a working machine in the foreseeable future?
Otherwise it looks like it will be hard to make any progress here.
Thanks.

Sorry Stefan
Right now I only have an emacs 27 on a windows box.

night 😐)
So... Sorry

Thanks. So I guess we will have a hard time making any progress here,
and I'm closing this bug. If you see this again, please open a new bug.

Managed to check an Emacs 28.0.50
With XMODIFIERS set to uim it works
But set to xim I get
<Multi_key> is undefined
It works in bash and libreoffice
Theres much more wrong in this emacs: See bug 44167
So not reopening
