Sorry for the lack of information. I figured it was global since I have the exact same problem in 23.4 and snapshot. Maybe it's a Mac bug.

I can't reproduce this. Does this happen with emacs -Q?
What version of Emacs is this (M-x report-emacs-bug includes such
