With Emacs 24.0.90.1, but the following in your .emacs.d/init.el and
try to execute "emacs --daemon". You will get a

Error: server did not start correctly

but there is no such a problem with "emacs" without the "--daemon" option.

The content of .emacs.d/init.el should be
