Subject: bug#63622: source of problem identified to be python-font-lock-extend-region
Date: Sat, 20 May 2023 21:53:49 -0700	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <CA+G3_PMwxwt7QCn4Nrfb79ouR7NHUfKA0FyWXaV25_c5FH=5Gw@mail.gmail.com> (raw)

Despite my previous speculation about the regexp,
the issue is in python-font-lock-extend-region. When
replaced with a no-op the performance returns to normal.
