Hi all,

Recently, space replaced dash as modeline fill character
(http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/emacs-devel/2010-10/msg00728.html).

I'm very happy for that, but I see that the first character of the
modeline (which doesn't have any special meaning AFAIK) is still a
dash.

Is there any reason for that? I think Emacs will look better if that
first character was a space too.

Thank you. Dani.

Hi,

Has anyone taken a look at this bug/request?

The modeline now looks much better/clean with the gaps filled with
whitespace, but you have forgotten to do "something" with the first
character!, "something" being either (a) get rid of it, or (b) fill it
the same way than the other gaps (space in graphical mode; hyphen in
text mode).

TIA.

Yes, I suppose we should make it consistent with the previous change,
removing the trailing dashes on graphical terminals. Committed.
