Zip-Archive mode should allow copy, like dired's "C".
As of now, if one wants a specific file, one must bring it up in a
buffer, and write it, hopefully intact with no added newlines etc.
into a file. No we don't always want to edit files when extracting
them from archives, e.g., .exe's.

Emacs is the extensible, customizable, self-documenting real-time
display editor.

Have you ever experienced a problem with Emacs making incorrect coding
system changes when you do that? If so, submit a proper bug report.
You could just define a keyboard macro that does what you need (e.g.
`f C-x C-w C-x k'), name it, then bind it to "C" in Archive Mode's
local keymap.

(add-hook 'find-file-hooks
(lambda ()
(when (and archive-subfile-mode
(let ((case-fold-search nil))
(string-match "\\.exe\\'"
(aref archive-subfile-mode 0))))
(setq buffer-read-only t))))
