M-x ibuffer
Ibuffer correctly shows the buffer named "a^Jb" (but perhaps it should
show the newline as "^J" or as "\n"). But some of the behavior is
bugged.
Use `d' and `DEL' (backspace) a couple of times. Use `d' and `x'. Try
clicking mouse-1 after the `a' in the buffer name.
The display and the functioning of Ibuffer is messed up whenever a
buffer name contains a newline character.
Note that `list-buffers' and `buffer-menu' do not have any such problem.
They appear to work OK with such buffer names.

I've pushed a fixed to the trunk for this now.
