Hmm, I'm not able to reproduce this -- are you using Emacs master? I
haven't changed anything relevant in ebdb-mua.el or ebdb-gnus.el in
quite a while. Does restarting Emacs help?

Sorry, obviously I could have seen for myself what Emacs version you're
using...

This is still fairly mysterious, though. If restarting Emacs doesn't
help, can you eval this manually and see if it works?

Restarting emacs fixed it. :-| Not sure what happened.

Also there used to be warnings about some mail-mode variables. Those are
gone in this release.

I am closing this.

PS: When loading using use-package, ebdb is giving some warning. I'll
file a separate bug after checking my configuration thoroughly.

I get the sense that generic methods aren't 100% compatible with hot
reloading, not sure why.
