Just to clarify, from the user's POV Emacs is not iconified. IIRC you explained that when we switch desktops, the windows in the previously selected desktop change to the iconified state, but that's an implementation detail of the window manager. I hope I got this right. I just checked that if the user iconifies (minimizes) Emacs' window before he switches desktops, the focus does not change. > And even worse, that focus is set in a way that cannot easily be > perceived by the user.
