-rv is listed on the man page as an X windows option.
Why not also make it work with -nw?
Or, on the other hand, make emacs -nw -rv print a warning.

It already does, or should (documentation issues aside).  If it
doesn't work with -nw, it's a bug that should be fixed.

I get the same thing with both -rv and without here on xterm and
emacs-version "23.1.91.1"
# su - nobody
nobody@jidanni2:/$ emacs -nw
nobody@jidanni2:/$ emacs -nw -rv

Well, -rv works for me in Emacs 22.3, so this is a regression in v23.1
that should be fixed.
