(I'm going through old bug reports that unfortunately got no response at
the time.)
Testing this in Emacs 28, I do not get any errors (but I can reproduce
the issue in Emacs 27.1.) However -- it still doesn't work: When
dragging the divider to the left, nothing happens. (Dragging to the
right works fine.)
