Johan> Try Johan> emacs --no-site-file -q --eval "(setq frame-background-mode 'dark)" -f shell -nw OK, by the way frame-background-mode's value is dark Documentation: *The brightness of the background. Set this to the symbol `dark' if your background color is dark, `light' if your background is light, or nil (default) if you want Emacs to examine the brightness for you. Don't set this variable with `setq'; this won't have the expected effect. The docs should show us how to set it if not with setq. Maybe (custom-set-variables '(frame-background-mode 'dark)) Ok, say so. Also where to obtain the results of Emacs' said evaluation should be mentioned. -- http://jidanni.org/ Taiwan(04)25854780
