(info "(emacs) List Buffers") and list-buffers's docsrting should
mention:
If you often have longer buffer names truncated [so much so that they
even become identical], be sure to set a higher value for
Buffer-menu-name-width.
Thanks.
(As list-buffers was written for 80 character wide screens, and does not
consult window-body-width.)

I mentioned the column width variables in `buffer-menu' instead (which
that command links to) on the trunk now.
