(emacs) `Icomplete' should be fixed to use the standard key-binding
notation.  <M-TAB> should be `M-TAB'; <C-j> should be `C-j'.

In GNU Emacs 24.3.50.1 (i686-pc-mingw32)
 of 2014-02-11 on ODIEONE

As far as I can see, that node is using the normal @kbd specs:

  @kbd{M-@key{TAB}} will select the first completion in the list, like
@kbd{C-j} but without exiting the minibuffer, so you can edit it
further.  This is typically used when entering a file name, where
@kbd{M-@key{TAB}} can be used a few times to descend in the hierarchy
of directories.

Indeed.  Which is why the Info format now looks like this:

     ‘M-<TAB>’ will select the first completion in the list, like ‘C-j’
  but without exiting the minibuffer, so you can edit it further.  This is
  typically used when entering a file name, where ‘M-<TAB>’ can be used a
  few times to descend in the hierarchy of directories.

IOW, little green men have already fixed this, see bug #17362.
