Subject: C-x d please don't be so unfriendly on no matches

Isn't emacs going to help me out with the rest of a file name for
dired? E.g. if there's only /ver/spool that matches, then why have
me type
C-x d / v a r / s p <tab> <return>
when
C-x d / v a r / s p <return>
would be good enough. I mean it's not like find-file where I might
want to create a new file... OK, at least don't just give up, but stay
in the minibuffer with asking me to complete the name.
Seems I reported something like the before.
