Subject: bug#48902: 28.0.50; Directory names containing apostrophes and backticks cause problems
Date: Mon, 07 Jun 2021 16:24:44 +0200	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <87czsxpxar.fsf@gnus.org> (raw)
In-Reply-To: <87h7i9py1s.fsf@gnus.org> (Lars Ingebrigtsen's message of "Mon, 07 Jun 2021 16:08:31 +0200")

Yup; the current trunk isn't able to view images under Macos from dired
if the path contains a non-ASCII char.

Test case:

larsi@emkay trunk % mkdir /tmp/fóo
larsi@emkay trunk % cp etc/images/gnus/gnus.png /tmp/fóo/
larsi@emkay trunk % ./src/emacs /tmp/fóo/

And then RET the file to test. I then get an error message about
failed output type 'public.tiff' on the terminal.

I've added Alan to the CCs.
