      <p>My extended double zepp is single-purpose, to facilitate comms with my friend Father John HH6JH when the beam is otherwise occupied.&nbsp; For that I have it oriented to favor north and south and it works amazingly well for only being up about 15 feet.<br><br>I modeled it in EZNEC and cut the element and stub lengths more or less to the model, lengths 44.75 ft per side then trimmed for best SWR, and stub length 8.25 ft of 600-ohm ladder line.&nbsp; I can feed it with a random length of coax thru a 1:1 choke and it seems to work just fine.<br><br>SWR is 1.1:1 at 14.194, 1.5:1 at 14.0, and 1.7:1 at 14.35, which is better than the model said it would be.<br><br>Was hoping to get it up to 40 feet this year but now it looks like that&#39;s not going to happen until spring, meanwhile it
 &#39;s doing its job at 15 feet and I don&#39;t seem to have to pay attention to specific coax lengths..<br><br>Rick WA1RKT</p>
