You guys probably thought you were real swift with messages like
An error has occurred while loading `/home/jidanni/.emacs':
File error: "Cannot open load file", "bla bla...
However if one does
$ emacs some_file
the message stays up for about a second or two, before some_file
replaces it.
Unless the user is in the habit of staring at the computer, he may
miss it.
And, if emacs is started e.g., from ~/.xsession then he could go a
lifetime without noticing it amongst the window pile.
Therefore, when interactive at least, you might consider a y-or-n
minibuffer interaction,
"okay?"
"Got that, Holmes?"
"continue or stop?"
"Blunder forth nevertheleast?"
