A happy Hello,
the bug can be reproduced as follows:
open emacs in terminal 'emacs -q --no-site-file';
create file 'test.org-file';
put in 'test' and export to LaTex via 'C-c C-e l o' as 'PDF file and open';
in buffer 'Messages' appears
'Wrote /home/rh-2015/test.tex
Processing LaTeX file test.tex...
PDF file produced.
Running evince /home/rh-2015/test.pdf...done'.
Problem: Evince does not start.
OS: Ubuntu LTS 18.4.
Cheers
Reiner

(I'm going through old bug reports that unfortunately weren't resolved
at the time.)
I tried reproducing this with Emacs 29 on Debian/bookworm, and
everything worked fine for me (after installing evince).
Do you still see this problem in recent Emacs versions?

Thanks for testing; I'm closing this bug report, then.
