Noticed when reading NEWS.26 image-dired-thumb-job-limit is mentioned,
but nowhere is defined. Closest variable that can be found in image-dired
is image-dired-queue-active-limit. Should the former be replaced with latter?

Since image-dired-queue-active-limit is not a defcustom, I'd say the
reference to it should be simply removed.
(But if you see this in NEWS.26, you are in the wrong branch to edit
that file.)

I don't know how NEWS from the release branch is synced to NEWS.26 in master,
but I confirm that the same variable image-dired-thumb-job-limit is mentioned
in NEWS in the release branch whereas it doesn't exist in image-dired.el
in the release branch.

Of course. I was just warning you from trying to fix this in the
branch where that information appears in NEWS.XX, that is never the
right branch to fix such problems. They should be fixed in a branch
where that file appears as just NEWS.

I hesitated to remove it because it will help the users to know the source
of a possible problem (e.g. concurrent processes taking too much CPU).

I renamed it in the right branch.
