Tried this (with different setups, incl. adjusting sed to pipe the
addresses), and the result always looks like this:

  ?? ??:0
  ?? ??:0
  ?? ??:0
  ?? ??:0
  ?? ??:0
  ...

So that didn't work, for whatever reason :-(

Thanks, and I agree, let's keep the build options; I will try your
recipe for gdb next.
