I need to hear a second opinion, from someone who does read these languages, because the issue at hand is how the charset information affects the font(s) selected for displaying the text, and how important are the differences in those fonts to CJK users. > etc/HELLO is pretty much a disaster for me now, as I can’t use any tool > other than Emacs to look at it ??? It's a UTF-8 file with markup. Do you have the same problems with HTML and XML files? (I'm not saying that we should use the same technique for Lisp files, of course.)
